The product list of the Sri Lanka-Pakistan FTA will be finalized shortly. Director of Commerce Manel De Silva will a delegation which will leave for Islamabad on Sunday to finalize arrangements.
The delegation comprises of officials from the Department of Commerce, General Treasury, Sri Lanka Tea Board, Ministry of Enterprise Development Industrial Policy and Investment Promotions, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. They will participate in the technical sessions on March 18 and
19 to finalize the product list which was earlier a stumbling block to the Agreement.
The FTA with Pakistan is expected to be signed early next month with Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake visiting Islamabad to sign in behalf of Sri Lanka.
