High Commissioner Meets Sri Lankan Students in Karachi

High Commissioner Fred Senevirathne met with Sri Lankan students representing various universities in Karachi under the Allama Iqbal Scholarship Programme, which includes both fully funded and partially funded awards.

 

The discussions focused on matters related to student welfare, visa issues, and the recognition of Pakistani universities by the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) and the Colombo Medical Council (CMC).

The meeting was welcomed and facilitated by Consul General Sanjeewa Pattiwela in Karachi. High Commissioner Fred Senevirathne encouraged the students to actively engage with the High Commission for support and guidance during their studies in Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong academic and cultural ties between the two countries.

The interaction concluded in a cordial atmosphere, reflecting the High Commission’s commitment to the welfare of Sri Lankan students abroad, and the High Commissioner was accompanied by the Minister and the Head of Chancery.
