The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Pakistan Fred Senavirathne met a group of Sri Lankan students from various universities in Lahore, Punjab Province on 26 September 2025 at the Office of the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Lahore.

The High Commissioner Senavirathne was warmly welcomed by the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Lahore, Yasin Joyia along with his staff members. During the meeting, High Commissioner had a productive discussion with Sri Lankan students studying at various universities in Lahore under the Allama Iqbal fully and partially funded scholarship programme.

 

Key issues were discussed, including academic opportunities, visa-related challenges, and the overall welfare of Sri Lankan students in Pakistan. The High Commissioner reaffirmed the government’s continued support and underscored its commitment to improving the students’ educational experience and future career prospects in Pakistan.
