High Commissioner meets with the Ambassador of Kyrgyz Republic in Islamabad

The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Rear Admiral Fred Senevirathne, paid a courtesy call on Kylychbek Sultan, the Ambassador of Kyrgyz Republic in Islamabad, on 02 September 2025 at the Embassy of Kyrgyz Republic in Islamabad.

High Commissioner Senevirathne was warmly welcomed by Ambassador Kylychbek Sultan. During the meeting, it was highlighted that the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic consistently maintains cordial relations with the Government of Sri Lanka and extends its support at both regional and international forums.

It was also noted that both countries could enhance cooperation in various areas such as sports, environment, science and education, cultural exchange, health, tourism, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and investment.

The High Commissioner expressed his appreciation to the Ambassador for the warm hospitality extended and for arranging the meeting. He acknowledged the continued collaboration between the two countries and highlighted the vision of Sri Lanka’s current political leadership to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, malpractices, and the misuse of public property. He further emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting good governance and creating a more conducive environment for foreign investment.

A Christy Ruban, Minister of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad was present at the meeting.
