President of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry pays a courtesy call on High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Islamabad

The President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Usman Shaukat, paid a courtesy call on the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Islamabad, Fred Senavirathne, on 10 October 2025 at the Official Residence of the High Commissioner.

The President, Senior Vice President, and Vice President of the RCCI were warmly received by the High Commissioner, who expressed his appreciation for their courtesy call. During the meeting, the High Commissioner provided an overview of the new Government of Sri Lanka’s policy priorities, including the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ initiative, poverty alleviation programs, and the advancement of digital infrastructure. He also highlighted the establishment of designated investment zones designed to attract and facilitate foreign direct investment, underscoring Sri Lanka’s commitment to fostering economic growth and international partnerships.

Discussions also focused on the upcoming Sri Lanka Economic and Investment Summit 2025, organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka from 02 to 04 December 2025, as well as the Prathibhabhisheka Women Entrepreneur Awards 2025.

Usman Shaukat extended his appreciation to the High Commissioner for facilitating the meeting and acknowledged the encouraging progress in Sri Lanka’s political, economic, and investment landscape. He fondly recalled his previous visit to Sri Lanka as part of a business delegation and conveyed keen interest in organizing a similar delegation in the near future.
