Authentication of documents

AUTHENTICATION OF DOCUMENTS

IF THE DOCUMENT IS ORIGINATED FROM SRI LANKA

First, the document has to be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Colombo.

Secondly, present the attested document with,

  • Request letter from the applicant
  • Authority letter for a third party
  • Relevant fee

To the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad.

IF THE DOCUMENT IS ORIGINATED FROM PAKISTAN

First, the document has to be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pakistan.

Secondly, present the attested document with,

  • Request letter from the applicant
  • Authority letter for a third party
  • Relevant fee

To the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad.

IF THE DOCUMENT IS ORIGINATED FROM A THIRD COUNTRY

  • First, the document must be attested by the ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country in which the certificate is originated from.
  • Secondly, the document has to be attested by the Sri Lankan High Commission / embassy / Consulate from the same country in which the document is originated from. (Please be noted that the stamp of the attestation is valid for one year from the date of issue)
  • Finally, present the attested document to the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad or Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Karachi for authentication.

You can submit the application to the consular division of the High Commission of

Sri Lanka in Islamabad, by hand.

The Consular Division is open from Monday to Friday (9.00 am to 12.00 pm)

Attestation of Documents (except Export and Education Certificates)

Each document will be charged –

PkRs  4800.00 (Sri Lanka Nationals)

PkRs  5300.00 (Foreign Nationals)

  • Attestation of Educational Certificates – PkRs    800
  • Attestation of a Set of Export Documents – PkRs  7050
  • Issuance of “Certified True Copy” on a document – PkRs    800
